A dual-level home in Brisbane’s outer south, set on just under an acre and backing onto green space, is set to transport buyers to their own private oasis just 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 169 Bleasby Road, Eight Mile Plains, built by current owner Robyn McDonald just under three decades ago with its stunning grand brick facade, glimmering swimming pool, tennis court, and fully landscaped gardens, has seen many milestones and provided a plethora of memories.
But now, the children have grown up, and she is ready to sell up and embark on a new chapter interstate.
“We bought the property and loved the location and bushland; it has green space all around it. I’m going to miss the ease of location, accessibility and location. Every morning I get up, I look at bushland and forget I’m in the middle of Brisbane,” Ms McDonald said.
“Eight Mile Plains was already a growing hub when we first purchased the property, and we had lived in the area before that, so we knew it had potential. We had an inkling it would grow further, the schools, the motorway to the city, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, Westfield Garden City and the busway, it just got better and better over time.”
Ms McDonald said she had treasured memories in the home from her kids growing up, parties, family functions and more.
“There is so much we have done as a family here. All of my children have grown up here, all gone onto school, university and gone on their own paths. When they were growing up and going through each stage of life, it allowed them to grow with the house. It’s a versatile home,” she said.
“All my kids had their formal photographs taken here; it was the perfect backdrop. I remember birthday parties, hockey games, Christmases, and work break-up parties with super slides. The home lends for you to be able to do that.
“It’s time to hand on what I have to someone who can fully use it. I hope the new owners will make the dream their own and enjoy the wonderful space they can use for anything. It’s just serenity; you come home, and the rest of the world is blocked off. You don’t feel like there is anyone else around.”
Property agent Owen Chen from Place Estate Agents, Sunnybank, said the home had seen huge numbers through the first open home.
“We had 36 groups through, so about 100 people in total; it looks like it is going to be a very successful campaign,” Mr Chen said.
“At only just 15km away from the Brisbane CBD and offering one acre, that lifestyle is very rare for where the home is and what it offers.
“I’ve never seen the market booming like this in my 16-year career. Everyone is cashed up and ready to buy.”
