We are continuing to see solid movements in the market as we move into the final month of spring.
Harcourts Coastal managing director Dane Atherton is gearing up for a big month after a bonanza October – he reported $77 million and 99 sales.
“While we did $109 million in September which was extraordinary, usually the month after settles down but we can say the hangover wasn’t bad at all, it was in fact really good,” Dane says.
“There is still plenty of action and stock is still a bit tight.”
One such Harcourts Coastal listing is Aussie golden girl Sophie Monk’s parents’ home at 11 Airlie Place, Helensvale.
The five-bedroom house on a 4287sq m block hit the market this week.
Sophie told the Bulletin the home held fond childhood memories and was a haven for her when she flew back from the USA. Brothers Steve and James Weir are marketing the property.
In the central Coast, eight registered bidders lined up at 15 Riverview Court, Ashmore last weekend. The property sold to a local for $1.465 million.
Nick Cole of Lucy Cole Prestige Properties was behind the marketing campaign and says buyer confidence is restoring on the Coast.
“The confidence is definitely there – eight registered buyers on the weekend, the amount of sold signs around the city and the number of open homes is really encouraging,” Nick says.
In news on the Glitter Strip, a Budds Beach property which last changed hands for £50 at a time when the area was full of mangroves has fetched $985,000 at auction.
Linked to the late Paul Jermanus and cousin Marilyn Ialacci, it hosts four rundown two-bedroom flats, and is a short stroll from Surfers Paradise.
The new owners from Brisbane will renovate them as an investment. Denise Allan of Professionals Surfers Paradise sold the property.
