WORK has started on a retail/medical precinct in the new masterplanned community of Yarrabilba south of Brisbane.
Yarrabilba’s District Centre which spans the area between Yarrabilba Drive, Wongawallan Drive, Waldron St and Darlington Drive will by the end of the year also have a 3200sq m full line Coles supermarket with fresh bakery, deli, seafood, large fresh produce and grocery offer.
It will also offer a McDonald’s and Yarrabilba’s second Family Medical Centre, anchored by a 400sq m pharmacy and an array of allied heath uses plus on-site cafe.
Managing director of Lendlease’s communities business in Australia Matthew Wallace said this major milestone is further evidence of the growing popularity of Yarrabilba.
“We are focused on creating the best places and providing our residents as early as possible with options for dining, great shopping and entertainment.
“Attracting residents and locals alike means developing a central hub with the end user in mind and catering for the needs of the community as it continually grows and evolves,” he said.
It is estimated that over 800 equivalent full time jobs will be created from the delivery of these various developments contained within the District Centre.
Priced from $270,000, commercial / mixed unit sites range from 819sq m to 1243sq m forming part of Yarrabilba’s first District Centre, which already includes an IGA anchored convenience centre, 24-hour Caltex service station and Star Mart, cafes and medical centre.
Coles state general manager Paul Bradshaw said Coles were delighted to be developing a new market-style supermarket at Yarrabilba.
“We will create around 100 retail jobs once complete and offer a range of products and store features to meet the needs of local residents.
“It is part of an investment by Coles of more than $30 million in the Logan Council over the past two years, which is testament to the confidence we have in the future of the region,” he said.
